Cataloging on macOS requires restart after granting access

In order for EdgeRover™ to catalog your content, it requires access to your folders. The first time you add a folder to the catalog, you will be prompted by macOS to give EdgeRover this access. If you do not allow it, you will be notified by EdgeRover that it requires it.

There are two cases.

Photos

  • Go to macOS Security & Privacy settings
  • In the Privacy tab select Photos in the left pane
  • In the right pane, click on the checkbox next to EdgeRover™
  • Restart EdgeRover (you will not be prompted to do so but it is a necessary step for the setting change to work)

Desktop, Downloads and Document Folders

  • Go to macOS Security & Privacy settings
  • In the Privacy tab select Files and Folders in the left pane
  • In the right pane, click on the checkboxes under EdgeRover
  • Restart EdgeRover (you will be prompted to do so and it is a necessary step for the setting change to work)
