Automatic groupings
Your operating system most likely has a mechanism to manually tag files so that you can search for them later. Tags are powerful because a file can have multiple tags, such as "recipe" and "Italy". Organizing by folder structure isn't as flexible because a file can only go into one folder - to use the above example, a file cannot be both in a recipe folder and an Italy folder. Most people start to organize their content with good intentions, either using tags or folder structures, but before long give up as it's a time-consuming process.
EdgeRover™ makes it easy to organize your content using manual tags and Collections. In addition, it automatically organizes your content. Here are some examples:
- Search or browse by place (requires photos taken on smartphones or cameras with location services enabled).
- Search or browse by items automatically detected in photos, such as car, building, bridge, people, dog, and many more.
- Search and browse by file type, such as all spreadsheets.
- Browse photos from a celebration, such as a birthday party.
- Browse by file size. This is great for finding large files that you may no longer need and that are taking up valuable storage space.
- Browse duplicates. This is another great way to identify unnecessary copies of files so you can free up storage space, not to mention having the reassurance that you have backups of files.
- Browse recently opened files. This makes it easy to resume working on them.
- Browse files from this week and month in past years. If you have regular annual activities, like filing tax returns, this is a great way to find your past files. Or on a happier note, photos from past birthdays.
