Device registration

These days, most of us own many different devices, and as time goes on, companies release new devices with better technology built-in. Living in a digital age, it’s a clever choice to register your devices and understand their warranties to help you get the most out of your investments.

When you get a new device with Western Digital®, get it registered. Registering your devices ensures that your warranty expiration date is current. Keep in mind that the type of warranty you have with your device depends on the product model. To register your device, visit the Product registration page. You’ll need to provide the following information:

  • Brand
  • First and last name
  • Email
  • Country
  • Phone number
  • Serial number
  • Purchase date and place of purchase
  • A document that shows proof of purchase

The EdgeRover™ app automatically detects your WD®, SanDisk®, and SanDisk Professional® products and gives you an option to register the device. In the To do list, you’ll see a “Register device” card. If you don’t see the To do list, click at the top-right of the title bar.

When you click the “Register device” card, it takes you directly to the Product registration page in your browser. After you click the card, it’s removed from the To do list whether you complete the task or not.

You can also register your device in EdgeRover from the Source tab:

  1. Choose the Source you want to register.
  2. Click Ellipsis > Register Source.
  3. Your browser opens to the Product registration page.

In the same drop-down menu, you can also click More info to bring up the details panel. Click Register from the grid of options to be taken to the Product registration page in your browser.
