Catalog size management
The Catalog EdgeRover™ creates is small compared to the size of the original content it indexes. However, if you have a significant amount of data, the Catalog can become quite large.
EdgeRover™ notifies you when the Catalog reaches its maximum size. This maximum is usually set at 10% of the space available on your drive.
To allow cataloging to continue (if space is available), follow these steps:
- Open Settings > Manage Catalog.
- Drag the slider (located at the bottom of the screen) to the right to increase the maximum size of the Catalog.
- Click Update Catalog size.
The Manage Catalog window displays the current size of the Catalog and the disk utilization of how the volume is being used. Hover your mouse over the disk utilization stacked bar chart to see the numeric values (in GBs) of each of the following.
Resource | Content |
---|---|
Used space | The space used by apps and operating system files. |
Current Catalog | The current size of the Catalog. |
Maximum Catalog | The maximum size of the Catalog. |
Free space | The total space available on the volume. |
Note: EdgeRover™ doesn’t allow you to dedicate all of your free space to the Catalog because other apps need some space to operate normally. Specifically, EdgeRover™ doesn’t allow you to use more than 95% of your free disk space.
